WhatsApp users can now filter chats with customized lists
WhatsApp is enhancing message organization with a new "Custom Lists" feature, making it easier to manage a busy inbox. Announced on Thursday, the update enables users to categorize chats, helping to keep track of family, friends, work, and more.
This improvement builds on WhatsApp’s previous chat filters, which debuted in April and included “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups.” With Custom Lists, users can now create personalized lists to focus on important conversations. To set up a new list, simply tap the plus (+) icon in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab, name your list, and add individual or group chats. Additional lists can be created, and you can swipe to switch between categories. Long-pressing on a list allows for easy editing, adding or removing people or groups as needed.
The default view will continue to be “All,” displaying all chats in chronological order. WhatsApp is rolling out Custom Lists starting today, with availability expanding to all users in the coming weeks.
