'Snowdrop' star Park Soo Ryun passes away at 29, after a fatal fall
South Korean actress Park Soo Ryun, best known for acting in the popular romantic K-drama TV series ‘Snowdrop’ has passed away. She was 29.
According to a report by the South Korean tabloid Osen, the actress fell down the stairs while on a visit to Jeju Island. She was rushed to the hospital, but numerous futile attempts were made to revive her. Eventually, she was declared brain-dead. Her family has donated her organs to medical facilities.
The ‘Siddhartha’ star's mother told the Korean entertainment portal Soompi, “Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating. There must be someone who desperately needs [organs]. As her mother and father, we will be able to live comforted [by the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating.”
Although best known for the 2022 romantic drama ‘Snowdrop’ which also starred Jung Hae-In and K-pop sensation Kim Jisoo (a member of the global phenomenon Blackpink) Soo Ryun was a familiar face in musicals. She made her debut in 2018 with the musical ‘II Tenore’. She appeared in a few more popular musical dramas such as ‘Siddhartha’, ‘Finding Mr. Destiny’, ‘The Days We Loved’ etc.
The mortuary of the actress has been in the funeral hall of the Suwon Hospital, located at Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Centre. Her last rites started at 4:00 pm (Korean Standard Time) on Monday and will end on Tuesday morning.
