Meet Master Sergeant Muhammad Khairunnizam Bin Amran, NDP 2021's 'Epic Sax Guy'

At the National Day Parade (NDP) last night (August 21), Epic Sax Guy grabbed our attention with his enthusiastic playing of the saxophone in a smart military uniform.

On August 22, The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Bandidentified him as Master Sergeant/ME2 (Military Expert 2) Muhammad Khairunnizam Bin Amran.

Since his enlistment in 2004, the father of two has attained a Licentiate Diploma in Saxophone Performance (LTCL) as well as the Fellowship of the Trinity College London in Saxophone Recital (FTCL).

Having been with the SAF Band for the past 17 years and counting, the principal saxophonist has performed at international military tattoo festivals in various countries such as Canada, China, Japan, Russia, Sweden, and the U.S.

Eleventh year at NDP

This is his eleventh year of performing at the NDP.
