Four injured as tram crashes into Oslo store

A tram derailment in central Oslo on Tuesday (Oct 29) left four people injured as it crashed into an Apple retailer store, Eplehuset, according to police reports. Photos shared by Norwegian media displayed the tram's front end lodged deep inside the shop. Of the 20 passengers on board, four sustained injuries, including the conductor, though none are believed to be seriously hurt. Emergency services treated the injured on-site.

The incident occurred when the Sporveien-operated tram failed to make a left turn onto Storgata, a major Oslo street, and instead continued straight into the store, as confirmed by police operations leader Anders Roenning. A bystander, demolition worker Thomas Larsen, narrowly escaped injury while on his electric scooter, stating, "Three seconds later, I would have been under it."
