The government of Japan has included Bharat Biotech’s C

Covaxin ovaxin in the list of recognised vaccines to further facilitate travel from India, said the Indian embassy of Japan on April 7. Apart from Covaxin, Japan also recognises Pfizer’s Comirnaty, AstraZeneca’s Vaxzevria, and Covid-19 vaccines by Moderna and Janssen.

Chinese scientists have designed a circular RNA (circRNA) vaccine that is able to induce effective neutralising antibodies against the dominant Omicron variants in animal testing. Wei Wensheng, a professor at the School of Life Sciences, Peking University, the leader of the team that developed the circRNA vaccine, told the Global Times that the team is preparing the vaccine for clinical trials, including applying for authority approval.

The European Union has accepted Malaysia’s Covid-19 vaccine certificates effective April 4. In a report, European Commission president Ursula Von Der Leyen said the EU had accepted Malaysia’s vaccine certificates in equivalence with the EU’s Digital Covid-19 Certificate.
